Shujin drew the 62 pages of hepatica (Anemone hepatica) variety pictures that he included in an album entitled Chōraku Kafu (Choraku Flower Album). This album was published in early 1800s. Nothing has been recorded about Shujin so his motivation for choosing to focus on hepatica isn’t known. He drew his flower subjects in a true to life way, similar to European flower art.
